Okay, this time I took [no, I did not steal it, she offered it] the shelf from Madeline’s room and put it in the dining room. The benefit of having all white decor is that things can go from one room to the other without missing a beat! I had been looking for something for this space for a while and since I wanted something that cost a thousand dollars, this will have to do for a while. I am still missing something but, oh well, we never use that room anyway!
I love this room! This is pink and green done right! It has such a preppy-glam vibe. The most crucial pieces here are the pink chair, pink and green lamp, pink pillows and green wallpaper. If these items were removed, the room would be just another nice room. This has such a Lilly Pulitzer look without the wild Lilly prints. If I have some pillows made from vintage Lilly fabric, it would be the icing on the cake!
I need two of these! I don’t know where I will put them but I love them. There is a whole collection of darling chairs with great fabrics right now on Target.com
Doesn’t this room say peaceful and glamorous to you? I am inspired by the calming blue and cream mix and the adapted cheetah print using tan and blue. Ballard Designs is such a great resource for my decorating style. I love the ottoman used as a coffee table and the books in the middle remind me that that is an option for my sitting room. I moved my zebra ottoman in the sitting room with the mongolian lamb fur pillows. It really makes it like a glam lounge. I will go in search of some books to put in the middle to serve as a tray for something decorative. It is such a stormy day with tornado watches and rain….it is a day for decorating!

In the Texas heat, the only way to enjoy your back yard is “under cover”! I already have a canopy from Home depot but this one is so inspiring, I may have to make a new cover for it and trim it out with black trim. If it weren’t for those pesky pine trees, the black and white look would be great for my backyard. I have to stick to beige for now until those trees get taken down. I will put some pics of my patio up soon. I am working on a garden path right now. Then it is on to an arbor gate. Fun fun fun!
Ethan Allen has a new look, new website and some great resources online! I have always liked EA, especially in my English Country/Traditional decorating phase. They have some great eco-friendly options and seem to have jumped into the game with a great new look. One of the features I liked on the site was the style quiz. It got me right on the nose. Hollywood Glamour! They said I also might like Estate style- never heard of it, but I liked it all the same.

Ethan allen is doing the furniture for the HGTV dream home 2009. This should get them the advertizing they need to get back into furniture/design arena and attract the next generation. Go check out the site to see all they are offering. It is very enjoyable.

Christmas is around the corner! This year decorations have gone to a new creative level. Stores are using so many colors to express the season. Red and Green are not the only way to say Merry Christmas! I have gone with a white and silver theme this year because my new house is…white and silver!!!
